This mid-century inspired solid Saur Live edge bed is undoubtedly one of the sturdiest pieces of furniture I’ve ever experienced.
Crafted from seven remarkably heavy pieces—a headboard, footboard, two side boards, a middle board, and two mattress support pieces—this bed is assembled using only four wood pins, with three additional metal screws (none of which are structural). This is an old-world piece of furniture—solid as they come.
Please note, I do not recommend this bed for anyone who does not own their own home. Once installed, it will be extremely difficult to move due to its weight. This is not a one-person job; we can send specialists for installation, or you may hire your own.
Every bed is 100% unique. The individual character of the wood—the waves, undulations, and textures of each headboard, footboard, and sideboard—ensures that no two beds are alike. While we could try to mix and match pieces, each bed is designed as a cohesive whole, crafted by skilled artisans.
Despite its formidable size, the simplicity of its construction is part of its charm. I managed to assemble mine at home using just a rubber mallet for the wooden pins, after positioning two main slabs with some assistance.
This is truly an heirloom piece that promises enduring solidity. Enjoy!

About Me
Many of you know me, if not by name by sight; I am the long haired guy walking in my sandals or skiing down the mountain, hair in the wind, (no helmet- sorry not sorry) or dancing barefoot at one of the local music shows. My family got a place in Deer Valley in the early 80’s. Park City has always been part of my life and I raised my 2 older children in town. I have spent a large chunk of my life roaming the Wasatch & Uintah mountains, coaching local kids soccer, and enjoying Utah life.
My name is Rob, I am a long time PC resident but now I live about an hour north in Mtn Green, raising my younger kids (4, 2 & 6 months!) with my wife.
I started traveling the world in 1994. I spent almost 20 year of my life outside the USA. In travel I fell in love with the world and the uniqueness of handcrafted furniture and solid exotic wood built in the traditional manner by humans - not in a factory by machines. Each piece is a work of art, as the wood tells its own story.
I have been designing, building and importing furniture to all around the world for 20 years. Now I am bringing some of my ideas back to Utah.
This July we are offering a special 25% discount, and free delivery to the Park City area - to celebrate the USA launch of Destino Trading Company.
